So yesterday I thought that I was pretty much done with my project. Then I had a meeting with my mentor who told me that what I had actually been working on for the past three weeks was just one part of the project, and that he wanted to me to do all this other stuff as well. I’m not sure if it was a miscommunication, or that he really expects me to get it done in a day, but either way, it’s quite inconvenient and disappointing (I thought today was my last day!). I’ve spent most of today working on my project, and I told my mentor that I’m willing to keep working on the project in order to tie up loose ends (from home, thankfully.) It’s hard to know how much I need to do, since this is one of those things that requires constant feedback and is never truly “done.” But my project is being used for actual research, and my mentor has been so nice to me during the past few weeks, so I feel it would be rude not to continue. I am excited to finish the commute part of my senior project, however, and am looking forward to graduation.
